So a big shout out to Cher for making this happen.
Detroit Fashion Pages is featuring me. ME!
I can’t believe it. Check out the interview (and let me know what you think!)
(Me: Loafy do you want to be in the picture?
Dress: Vintage, salvation army ($5!!)
Shoes: Nine West
Pearls: Old (and fake)
Sad thing? I actually was cooking as I took these photos because I was just that hungry! I found this dress at the salvation army. I couldn’t tell if it was actually from the 50s or from the revival in the 80s. I don’t really care, because it’s awesome!
Welcome to my new haircut. I did it on a whim Wednesday night. I had my scissors in my hand, and asked for advice on Twitter. Yes, Twitter. Isn’t that where you go for all your advice?
Simply because I had some pink Manic Panic around, I added some to my hair. It fades out in a few washes, so it won’t be in for more than a few days.
And, because I was so amused with my hair this morning, this is what it looked like when I woke up:
(Yes, I slept in my makeup. No, I’m not proud of it.)
Top: Liberty of London for Target
Pants: Old Navy
Shoes: Guess via Buffalo Exchange
Ring: Courtesy of LaShae Jewelry
I wore this outfit today to greet and speak to a group of high school kids. I wanted to look professional, but I dislike suits, so that wasn’t happening. Plus, I’m only 24 so I wanted to look my age. But it’s hard to look your age when you still make funny faces in photos when your heel sinks into dirt, LOL.
And, I’m proud to say I’ve finally caught up on Glee. The first episode I ever watched was last week’s Madonna episode. Holy crap. I was missing out on a great show. I should’ve expected to like. I love musicals and if I were a better singer, would be involved in community theatre. Finn is hot. But so’s Noah. Ah the draw of [fake] high school boys! I’m glad our school wasn’t like that, but then again no one ever thought to toss a slurpee in your face. I have a feeling I would’ve been a recipient if that were the case.
I hated high school. I know I’ve talked about it before, but I really hated high school. College was much better. I wasn’t forced to be friends with people who didn’t like me. I could be friends with whomever I wanted without feeling like others were going to judge me.
But I digress.
LaShae Jewelry provided the ring in this post.
Since I’m a day late (and a dollar short) on my outfit post, I decided I would take a photo every hour and show you what my day is like. Kind of. (There are lots of me sitting at my desk creating Web pages. I heart HTML!!)

Top: H&M Garden Collection
Pants: So old- from high school!
Necklaces: Lia Sophia and F21
When it’s cold and rainy, I don’t put much thought into my outfits. It’s sad, yes, but on the days that I want to crawl back into bed, my outfits kinda reflect that.
I bought this shirt last week, when I was reviewing the parts of the H&M Garden Collection that are already out.
I really love the sleeves, but the shirt isn’t good in the rain, when it’s only 40 degrees outside. Boo. Hopefully I’ll be able to wear it when it gets a little warmer outside.
Time to curl up and watch my DVR-ed episodes of Project Runway. I need to catch up!
I had to RUSH through these photos. I was at H&M, then rushed to bowling. I don’t feel very cute in this outfit, even though I had a few compliment through the day. I with the tunic was either longer, so it could be a dress, or shorter. I feel like it stops at an odd place on my body.
And, as always, have an awesome weekend! I’ll be back a little later with a sneak peek of the leaked Zac Posen for Target collaboration (woo hoo!) and more fun stuff.
Thank you for choosing Miss Vinyl Ahoy as a stop on your blog reader… lol.
First, I want to thank everyone that read and commented on my post yesterday, “For the argument of fashion.” I really enjoyed reading everyone’s opinion and I’m glad we all have similar ideas of what fashion is to us. And now, onto my outfit! (Haha).
Tights: Forever 21
Hat: Vintage Underground
My usual photo spot was full of laundry, because we were getting different cable installed yesterday (newsflash- DOESN’T WORK YET!) so I posed in front of the bookshelf I broke, oops!
And, I’ll be honest, I didn’t wear the hat to work. It wasn’t until I got home that I realized how great it looked with the rest of my outfit.
Oh well. There’s always next time! I started cleaning the extra room out and realized there might not be enough room in there, so I will have to do some finagling to see what I can move around.
My outfit wasn’t super thought out- I just liked the tights, wanted to wear the skirt and grabbed the top- and it all worked! Yay!! I ended up wearing this outfit for the entire day- to go to the store in, to cook in, even to move furniture in (maybe that wasn’t well thought out…)
I really hope the cable’s fixed when I get home, because what is the point of a DVR if it’s not hooked up to anything? Oh well.
Totally felt like a librarian, haha. I think it’s the skirt. Every time I wear it I feel like a teacher or a librarian. If only librarians wore shoes like this! but, I know they can’t. It would just hurt! The shoes are cheap, but wonderful unicorn princess heels. They’re obviously knockoffs of Jeffrey Campbell, which I would buy if I could!
And, what is up with all the spring colors I’ve been wearing this week? Flowers, light blue and purple two days in a row? I must be itching for warmer weather!
My outfit is a hodgepodge of what I felt like wearing. Ha. There really is no rhyme or reason to any of it, only that I wanted to wear the jacket and the shirt and the rest just fell into place.
I was hoping for nice weather, but it started to snow on my way home from work! Oh well. I will still dress for the impending spring that I am SO ready for!
Jacket: Forever21 Twist
Today was another lazy day for clothes. I woke up way too early, fell asleep on the couch, and finally work up with about 30 minutes to get dressed. It’s not the most impressive outfit ever, but it looked cute in person. I got a lot of compliments on the shirt and the shoes at work today, so I must’ve looked OK.
Anyway, I’ve come up with a fabulous idea for my next giveaway, which will be posted over the weekend. I really hope you’ll come back to see what it is, becuase I’m really excited about it.
Today is rushed, because as you read this, I’m finishing up my half-day at work and driving out to visit Cher. We’re planning to go thrifting this weekend, which may result in some great finds (or not).
